Paphos
Known as the birthplace of Aphrodite and declared a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, Paphos has much to boast about. Tourists flock to Paphos for its charming old harbour, beautiful beaches, bustling seafront promenade, and historical and archaeological riches. Paphos is made up of two districts: the seafront area of Kato Paphos situated around a picturesque harbour with romantic cafes and tavernas; and the hilltop town of Pano Paphos featuring pretty narrow lanes and local shops. Historical and cultural sights of interest include the Byzantine castle of Paphos, St Paul's Pillar, the Temple of Aphrodite and the archaeological museum.
