Costa Dorada

Set on the east coast of Spain, Costa Dorada is known as the 'Gold Coast'. The 150-mile-stretch of fine-sand beaches extend all the way from Barcelona to Tarragona. The coastline is set against a backdrop of dramatic mountains and is dotted with charming Spanish villages and lively beach resorts. By far the liveliest holiday resort on the Costa Dorado is Salou, with its wide choice of cafes, bars, restaurants and nightclubs. Those seeking a quieter retreat can head for the beautiful coves of Cap Salou.

Families are particularly attracted to holidays in Costa Dorada due to: its long sandy beaches which gently shelve in to the sea; the wide choice of reasonably priced accommodation; and family entertainment, which includes fun days out at the Aquopolis Waterpark at La Pineda and the Universal Port Aventura.

Cambrils offers a traditional slice of Spanish life with its cobbled streets and typical tapas bars. A market is also held in the centre of town every Wednesday. The old Roman capital of Tarragona draws the crowds for its imposing cathedral and exclusive shopping. When the sun goes down, Salou is particularly popular with partygoers for its wide choice of British-style pubs and clubs. Sitges is also renowned for its nightlife and offers a selection of gay bars and cabaret shows.
